I’ve had to convince Tommy to love my style,

Gabrielle Fagan takes a look inside the new home of TOWIE power couple Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet now that it’s had a makeover

TOWIE might be famous for its spats, make-ups and break-ups, but one of the hit reality TV show’s couples have stayed the course – and now appear to be living in domestic bliss. Swimwear designer Georgia Kousoulou, 27, and businessman Tommy Mallet, 26, have been dating since 2014. They recently moved into a new home together and, after a makeover by home and interiors brand Wayfair.co.uk, have opened the doors to their glamorous pad.

“As soon as we saw this house in Essex, we instantly knew we had to live here. One thing Tommy and I agreed on when choosing our next place was that it must have a good vibe, and we found it here,” declares a clearly delighted Georgia, as she sits chatting in the large open-plan kitchen and living room.

“We haven’t been here long but we already feel at home here. Our new home is so airy and light, and is a bit bigger than where we used to live. Plus, it has a really nice garden for our Pomeranian dog, Monkey, to play around in,” adds the TV personality and entrepreneur, who lived in her parents’ huge mansion in the Essex countryside, before moving in with Tommy.

Georgia previously revealed that initially, she wasn’t too keen when she first met Tommy on the show. He has his own successful shoe business, Mallet Footwear, which boasts celebrity fans including David Beckham, Craig David and Will.i.am. “He came in all guns blazing and really loud. I didn’t like him for about an hour and then after that I was in love. We’ve been together ever since,” she said in an interview back in 2017.

Naturally, Georgia set down some dating ‘rules’ when they got together, and nowadays regularly updates her million-plus Instagram followers on their life together.

She’s clearly thrilled to be styling their nest and making her own mark on a house that was “completely re-done and perfect” when they moved in. As she explains, their home has “a very open plan layout, so the living room, kitchen and dining area are all in one with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on our garden”. Already decorated in a palette of simple soft grey and neutrals, the space allowed the couple free rein to personalise rooms with their individual touches, chosen from Wayfair’s ranges. Georgia wanted a “cool but cosy” space, so she’s used decorative accessories to provide pops of colour in her favourite shades – dusky purple and blush pink. “I think my style’s very soft and feminine, which I’ve had to convince Tommy to love as well,” she says with a smile. “I love mixmatching styles – touches of glam and pastels are my absolute favourite at the moment. My favourite part is probably how we added in different metals – from the gold coffee table, to the silver, mirrored console table. The result is a modern and glam mix that is so cute.”

“We’ve kept to the grey base with our sofa and bar stools, and then layered on bits of pink through a soft sheepskin rug and flamingo print,” Georgia explains.

“We really spend most of our time in our living area throughout the day, whether we’re making juice together in the morning, chilling in front of the TV, or having friends over. I love the space so much now.”

When they’re home, the couple like cosy nights in, “having our favourite Chinese take away, snuggling up on the sofa or having a movie night”.

Georgia adds: “At the moment, we’re spending so much time here because it’s such a lovely place to be and so homely.

“Filming starts soon, so we’ll be absolutely non-stop, but I can’t wait to have all our friends and people from the show for barbecues in the summer.”

And she says she can’t wait to have friends round.

“A lot of my friends will definitely be staying on the sofa bed, which is 100% perfect for girlie sleep-overs,” says Georgia, whose best pals include fellow TOWIE stars Lydia Bright and Chloe Lewis. Jokingly, she adds “Or Tommy can sleep on there when he’s annoying me!”
