Pallett heads Park winner

-

Claverton Park edged out Tramways at a wet and windy Lansdown in Division Two’s only fixture. Liam Pallett’s 73rd minute header from Pete Collins’ free-kick was all that separated the sides in a game of few chances. It was Tramways’ fourth successive defeat by the odd goal, and the second Sunday in a row that Claverton had edged past them. It moves Park up to fourth, but just four points clear of bottom placed A Little Different, who gave Dribuild a walkover. Team Nathan’s miserable campaign in Division One concluded against Pig & Fiddle Rovers. Gary Jones gave the visitors a half-time lead, but goals from Pete Davies, James Book, Nico Inglis and Harvey Cartwright made it an eventual comfortable win for Rovers. At the other end of the table, Kingsmead saw off arch-rivals GT Sports 4-0 at the University of Bath. Nick Bishop, Andrew Keen, Ash Scott and an own goal gives Kings an outside chance of claiming the title. GT ended with ten men as goalkeeper Sam Cottell saw red for a professional foul. At the same complex, FC Brewhouse hit seven against Bear Flat in the Secretary’s Cup. They weren’t the biggest winners of the day as Olympic Victoria walloped Two Weir Town 17-0 in Odd Down, four of them inside the opening ten minutes paving the way for their record win. Harrison Drew and Paul Gray each chipped in with four, Chris Rogers adding a hattrick in amongst a thumping success. Farrington Albion were also quick starters at Welton. They were 3-0 up inside five minutes with Don Mather left red-faced for one following a comical own goal. Luke Tucker (penalty), Corey Rawlings (2), Darren Whitfield and a Jon Kilburn screamer eased Albion’s passage to the semi-finals in a 6-1 victory. Lansdown complete the quartet in the last four, having gained revenge for a defeat on Estrella a week earlier by beating them 3-0. Craig Rogers’ double and one for Myles Lofthouse sealed their progression.
