Your guide to the road closures for Bath Half Marathon

-

Some 36 roads will be closed when the Bath Half takes place on Sunday.

The city’s half marathon will be tackled by around 15,000 runners cheered on by an expected 30,000 spectators.

Organisers of the race said they would reopen roads as soon as possible after the event.

The Bath Half team said: “Arrangements for this year’s race are largely unchanged from previous years.

“To ensure the safety of competitors and spectators, road closures, parking suspensions and footpath closures will operate on a number of streets within the city.

“Warning signs will be put up on affected streets several weeks before the race, and further signage will be erected on signposted diversion routes around the city on race day itself.

“The race organisers, Running High Events Ltd, are working closely with Bath and North East Somerset Council, Avon and Somerset police and other agencies to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.”

The organisers added: “Times stated below are the legal road closure times.

“However, we will endeavour to close the roads for as short a period of time as possible to minimise disruption, so in many cases the roads will be reopened earlier than the time stated.”
