Buccaneering triumph

-

Team Bath Buccaneers’ ladies 3rds r-ecorded their best win of the sea son as they thrashed Knowle 4-0.

The result was a complete reverse of the 5-1 defeat they suffered against the same opposition earlier in the season.

Buccs started cautiously but began to find their feet. However, against the run of play, Knowle sent a ball into the Buccs D, which would rebound off the post and cause panic, though the danger was eventually cleared by Abbi.

The Knowle keeper made sure the game was still goalless at halftime, despite pressure from Buccs, including two penalty corners and plenty of shots.

T-he second half started confi dently for Buccs, the movement and passing from Emma, Mel, Nia and Olivia was faster and more effective - feeding the ball to the forwards.

They were justly rewarded with two first-class goals from talented forward Nikki. Not to be outdone, B-ella and Non, who worked tire lessly off the ball, were rewarded when Bella scored an epic deflection for a goal of the season con- tender.

At 3-0, the defence could relax, and perhaps took their eye off the b-all, but it did not matter with Too good chasing back to make some great one-on-one tackles.

Player of the Match, JP, was awarded a penalty flick from a scuffle in the Knowle D and stepped up to convert to finish the scoring.
