Radstock derby sees A team into the next round

In an all Radstock affair, the A team overcame the B side 6-3 to progress i-n the Restricted Cup, Chris Ben nett picked up three wins. Radstock C also exited the competitio­n, losing 8-1 to Division One side Ensleigh A who put in a solid show ng.

Greg Burridge was the hero for Oldfield D, beating Richard Wickham in the fourth set to see off Bathford C 5-4. Paul Green and Andrew Steady proved too strong for hosts Key Centre A, who had to call up Ricardo Perpetua from the B team, as Bear Flat A won 7-2.

In the Handicap competitio­n, Bath Invaders A dug deep to beat Yatton Keynell B 5-4. Raymond Hill came through the final match 21-18 to book his side into the next round. The B side also progressed with a 5-1 victory over Bitton. Steve Doidge’s win in the sixth match was enough to win the tie which was ended early.

Oldfield A received a walkover in the KO Cup as Bath Invaders B couldn’t raise a team. The B team were eliminated 5-2 at the hands of Chippenham A. Gary Baldwin’s team ended the night early at their digression.

League action returns this week, with crunch games coming across all three divisions.

T-he Bath and District Table Ten nis League are running Monday tea-time sessions from 5.307-.15pm at St John’s School in Old field Park. There is also a session in K-eynsham at the Somerdale Pavil i-on on a Friday night, called Keyn sham Table Tennis Club. This is for ages 12 plus with beginners and league players alike at 6-9pm. Equipment is provided at each venue.
