LIGHT TOUCH

STUNNING BLACK AND WHITE SHOTS OF BATH

-

A series of photos has captured the beauty of Bath in black and white.

Photographer Jason Dorley-brown, 54, captured streets, landmarks and events for the collection.

His photos focus on the effect of light on city buildings.

Mr Dorley-brown, inset, said: “I feel that Bath lends itself to black and white photography and imagery.

“The beautiful curves and cor- ners of the architecture, the symmetry, the bold blocks and the sweeping lines. “Colour photography can show the beauty of sunlight on Bath stone but black and white can show the incredible tonal range and rich contrast and striking silhouettes that light on Bath stone creates.” He added: “Black and white photography (and the processing and printing from black and white negatives) was my first love and took me on a journey from Bath to London to New York, back to London and now back to my home town of Bath.

“In this time I have worked with and for many incredible photographers and artists that have taught and inspired me to love colour and digital processes.

“But for this series of photographs the circle has been completed and I return to my first love.”

The images will be on show and for sale in the Newbridge Art Trail on the weekend of May 11 and 12 at the Methodist church hall on Kennington Road in Bath.
