-

The Bath and District Table Tennis League’s end of season presentation/social evening took place at Saltford Golf Club on Friday, June 7. The function was attended by around 70 members and their partners/families; a significant increase on last year due to an early bird ticket offer.

Attendees enjoyed a splendid buffet supplied by the golf club and were entertained by a topical quiz, expertly organised and refereed once again by Dennis Townsend. Trophies were presented to the winners and runners-up of the league titles, team cup competitions, and closed championships.

The evening was finished by thanking Phillip Gentle who organised the event and David Parr who was responsible for the photography.

Chippenham A managed another title defence in the Premier Division, with Oldfield A finished runners up. Radstock A took the Division One title with Key Centre A finishing second. Batheaston A won the Second Division with Key Centre B gaining promotion in second.

Gary Baldwin claimed the Open title with Martyn Le Butt coming runner-up. There was a repeat result in the Veteran’s singles with Gary Baldwin defeating Scott Cooper again. Will Avery won the Junior competition with Tommy Franklin-evans winning the Cadets Event. Josh Kashdan won the Handicap competition for the second time in eight years.

Chippenham A also celebrated a win in the Knockout Cup, with Radstock A also adding to their trophy cabinet with a win in the Restricted Cup. Bath Invaders A picked up the Handicap Cup, defeating their B team in the process.
