Homes on city’s priciest street top £2 million mark

The average home in Bath’s most expensive street now costs more than £2 million.

The most expensive road in Bath and North East Somerset in 2019 was College Road in Bath, averaging £2.15 million from three sales.

Millards Hill in Radstock was the least expensive road in Bath and North East Somerset in 2019, with an average price of £135,000.

Further afield, the average home in Somerset’s most expensive street costs more than £1 million. The most expensive road in the county in 2019 was Church Road in Abbots Leigh, where prices from 11 sales averaged £1.3 million.

Cavalier Way in Wincanton was the least expensive road in Somerset in 2019, with an average price of £58,000.

The most expensive street in England and Wales in 2019 was

Ashburton Place in Mayfair, where homes go for an average of £17.5m.

There were 1,176 streets in England and Wales where the average price was £1m or more, down from 1,246 in 2018, 1,458 in 2017, and 1,451 in 2016.

The least expensive street in England and Wales was Kenilworth Court in Washington, Sunderland, where homes sold for an average of £18,750 in 2019.

Figures are based on data from the Land Registry, which lists the price paid for every residentia­l property bought at market value which are then registered. The data includes buy-to-let sales, repossessi­ons, and property bought through companies. Averages for each road are based on the median of all sale prices in 2019. Streets with fewer than three sales are excluded.
