Dedicated to giving people the best start to their working lives

The South West has so much to offer, from the honey coloured Georgian architecture of Bath to the sandy beaches of Cornwall, the rolling fields of Devon and everywhere in between.

There is no denying that this corner of the UK is full of not only beauty but also opportunity as it is home to many businesses that champion the success of apprenticeships.

One such organisation, Lifetime, is also known as the UK’S largest provider of apprenticeship training, recruitment solutions and vocational courses.

Heather Frankham, the original founder of Lifetime sold the business in 2016 but not before overseeing the training of over 150,000 apprentices.

These are 150,000 apprentices that would have entered the world of work equipped with a strong skill set and armed with background experience set to rival those in the industry thanks to their training.

Ms Frankham said: “Bristol plays a major role in steering the UK apprenticeship sector. It is home to Lifetime which I started in 1995 and during my tenure, we trained over 150,000 apprentices.

“I sold Lifetime in 2016 and since then have gone on to tackle some of the challenges around the delivery of apprenticeships, digitising the process and streamlining the user experience.

“My new business is Bud Systems: We have developed an Edtech solution that helps training providers deliver apprenticeships more effectively and meet the ESFA’S demands to raise standards across the industry.

“I’ve been championing apprenticeships for 25 years. My whole career has been dedicated to giving people the best possible start on their chosen path, and I wholeheartedly believe that apprenticeships are a force for good.”
