The Memory of Water

Next Stage Theatre Company presents The Memory of Water by Shelagh Stephenson.

Three sisters are brought together by the death of their mother. Preparing for the funeral the siblings laugh, cry and bicker over past events and half-recalled memories.

Though they have shared a mutual past and are defined and united through sadness and grief, each sister struggles with past jealousies and tensions whilst understanding that all their mother would have wanted was that they should love and support each other at this time.

Peppered with comedy, wit and laugh-out-loud moments, this clever, beautifully observed and written play is more than the sum of its parts.

It will strike a chord in all audience members as the layers of family tensions and relationships are stripped away and what is truly important and valuable in life is laid bare.

Directed in-the-round by Next Stage Theatre Company’s Artistic Director, Ann Ellison, this is one not to be missed!
