Cheers to real ale fans who raised £300 at beer festival

-

A beer festival has raised £300 for a Bath charity.

Bath and Borders Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) held its fourth Winter Ales Festival and in the process raised much-needed funds for Dorothy House hospice.

The cheque was presented to Yvonne Brunton in The Royal Oak in Bath.

During the festival, the Six Nations was screened for rugby fans and there was an array of beers to sample. It was the group’s fourth winter festival and 41st festival in total. It took place on February 7 and 8.

Trevor Cromie, one of the organising committee, said: “The Saturday session attracted the largest attendance since the event returned to the Widcombe Social Club in 2016. Our visitors sampled 29 beers from 25 breweries and once again made generous donations for a very worthy cause. The branch aims to do something similar around about the same time next year.”
