Buccs end their double header without a victory

Team Bath Buccaneers remain comfortabl­y mid-table in the Men’s Hockey League Division One South after Hugh Page netted to secure a 1-1 draw with Oxford Hawks. The following day, Buccs were beaten 3-0 by Sevenoaks to end the doublehead­er without a win.

As for the women, they were handed a 6-1 thrashing by Conference West leaders Surbiton 2nd. Cari Davies scored the consolatio­n.

In the Verde Recreo League, Liam White managed a brace in the A team’s 3-1 victory over Clifton Robinsons, Daniel Verity scored the other goal.

A brace from Dylan Jackson and one from Ben Scriven wasn’t enough for the B side as they were beaten 5-3 by Marlboroug­h in a shock for the Conference North leaders. The recovered to beat Leominster the following day, thanks to a Verity hat-trick, to win 3-2.

The C side ran out 6-3 winners over Firebrands B. Callum White earned himself a hat-trick, Henry Foster a brace alongside one from James Parish.

The D team were thrashed 7-0 at Central 1 leaders Bristol University B.

Marcus Bowman scored the E team but they were beaten 3-1 at Cirenceste­r A, ending their chances of potentiall­y winning East Central 1.

The inter-city derby saw Buccs F beat City of Bath B 4-2. Chris Hancock scored a brace and Simon Maughan was also on the scoresheet.

The G team were given a pasting by leaders Corsham, 12-0.

In the West Clubs Women’s League, the second side managed a 1-0 win over Teign to extend the gap in tenth to five points. The third team moved level with Weymouth in East Division with a 2-1 win. The fourths pulled off a comprehens­ive 7-0 victory over Swindon 2nd, while the fifth team were beaten 5-0 by Keynsham 2nd. The sixths were beaten 2-1 at Royal Wootton Bassett.

■ CITY OF BATH pulled off a 3-1 win at Conference North bottom side Clifton Robinsons B.

In Central 1, the bottom-sided A team were beaten 3-1 by Taunton Vale B. The C side lost 8-3 at Chippenham B.

The ladies performed fantastica­lly to beat Chippenham 3rd 10-2 and remain with an outside chance of winning Whitehorse 1.

Division Two leading seconds whitewashe­d Chippenham 4th 8-0 in a great double over their local rivals.
