Jones continues good form
spring nears, Bath Golf Club were able to hold a number of recent competitions.
The ladies played a stableford in fine but blustery conditions. Continuing her fine form, Honor Jones won with 31 points, two ahead of Jill Carter with Rachel Brown third on 28 and Anne Hitchin fourth on 27.
The men braved the storms to compete in a foursomes stableford. The winners with 36 were Steve Dewsnap and Chris Parkin, with Andrew Kynoch and Rob Mcallister second on 35. Third were Andrew Brady and Phill Scully on 33, one ahead of Tim Sefton and Duncan Spooner.
The seniors played a stableford in dry conditions. The winner with 43 was Paul Selley, seven ahead of Rod Davies with Anthony Jones beating Terry Paterson on countback after both scored 35.
Bath professional Russell Covey has been awarded the South West and Wales Coach of the Year for 2019.

■ LANSDOWN The Tucker Trophy ends this week with weekly prizes in this nine-hole competition, the winner is the player with the best three aggregate scores over the 12 weeks.
Currently, Bob White and Geoff Ewans are tied with 65 points, two ahead of Alasdair Mcintyre and Dave Price one further behind. White and Ewans have been recent winners of the weekly competition.
On Saturday, in atrocious conditions, a number of hardy souls played in a bowmaker. There was some great scoring and the winners with 105 points, with the two best scores counting on each hole, were Steve Langley, Pete Waller and Tom Furnell.
In second, just two behind, were Steve Watts, Nigel Rummings, Lee Ricketts and Terry Mallon.
