Charity appeals for sanitiser for city’s homeless
A Bath homeless charity has asked those who may be stockpiling hand sanitiser to help people in the city who don’t have access to handwashing facilities.
The request, in a tweet on March 13, came as supermarket shelves across the country were stripped of essential items, including toilet roll and washing products.
Homeless charity Julian House said it was short of hand sanitiser for vulnerable homeless people and staff in its Bath hostel last Friday and appealed for people to share supplies.
It tweeted: “Urgent Request: We’re in desperate need of hand sanitiser for our clients and staff in our hostel.
“If you’ve been stockpiling at home, please consider donating a bottle to us to help protect our vulnerable and at-risk clients suffering from homelessness.”
The tweet was shared across the city and has generated several offers of help.
