Parent tests positive for virus after trip, school reveals

-

A parent within the community at a Bath school has tested positive for coronavirus and is in isolation.

King Edward’s School, on North Road, said in a statement this week the individual had fallen ill after a recent trip abroad. The school said although other family members didn’t have symptoms of the virus, they were self-isolating. The school had been in contact with Public Health England (PHE) and there had been no confirmed cases among pupils and staff, it added.

The statement said: “We are pleased to note that the parent seems to be recovering well.

“The other family members are not exhibiting symptoms of the virus, but are self-isolating.

“We have been in contact with PHE and are following their advice. There are no confirmed cases of the virus amongst our pupil or staff body.

“The school has over the past weeks emphasised to parents, pupils and staff the importance of following an enhanced hygiene routine and continues to be vigilant and responsive to the latest guidance from government and PHE.”
