We’re here for you in these difficult times
We are entering strange and difficult times. I can’t remember a time when life has been more disrupted and uncertain.
We’ve faced foes in the past – foot and mouth and flooding have both tested Somerset in the last two decades. But the creeping challenge of coronavirus now seems to be pervading every corner of our county.
With that, we have seen unprecedented interest in local news at www.somersetlive.co.uk in the past few days. It’s a clear demonstration that our duty is clearer and more important than ever – to inform people about their local area and to help communities.
Our role is to help you stay in touch, to help you cope with the isolation that is increasingly necessary to protect our communities, and to let you know where to find help and support.
We’ve set up our own Facebook group where people can see the latest official updates. It’s also a place to offer help and share ideas.
Today we’re printing a form that you can use to offer help to neighbours. You can also find the coupon online in the Facebook group. You can join it here: https://tinyurl.com/covid19somerset
Our pledge is to support you in this testing time. If you face difficulties in getting out to buy your paper, contact your newsagent or call our subscriptions and home delivery team on 0333 2028000.
If there’s any way you think we can help, or if there’s something you think we should be telling people about, contact me at thomas.cock@reachplc.com.
