Rising talents to put on art show at chapel

-

A contemporary sculpture and installation display is to be held by former Bath students.

Fiona Campbell, Matthew Dibble, Kelly M O’brien, Kate Mcdonnell and Nicola Turner will present the exhibition, entitled Materiality, at Walcot Chapel in Bath.

This show is a celebration of materials in sculpture and installation art.

All five artists are fine art alumni from Bath Spa University.

Each artist holds the materials they work with at the heart of their critically-engaged practice.

Leaning on the political, ideological and social meanings of materials, the exhibition showcases large-scale objects and environments in the architectural space of the chapel.

Curator and artist Kate Mcdonnell says: “It’s rare to find opportunities to show large scale contemporary art sculpture and even rarer to be able to create installation art.

“I really wanted to celebrate the talents of these emerging artists in an amazing space.”

The event runs from March 26 to 29 at Walcot Chapel which is open daily 12pm to 6pm. Entry is free.
