New partners are ‘ambitious and talented’

Bath-based law firm Royds Withy King has further strengthen­ed its business with the appointmen­t of four new partners.

Lee Taylor will lead the firm’s Residentia­l Developmen­t team in the city from April, while Rod Smith will become the new head of private client at the firm’s London office in May.

Meanwhile, at the Oxford office, Vicky Hernandez has joined the Real Estate team and Carl Selby has joined the Corporate team.

Lee is joining the firm from Lyons Davidson, where he was head of real estate. Before that, he held roles at Bevan Brittan and DAC Beachcroft in Bristol.

His experience will also strengthen the firm’s expertise in retirement village and healthcare developmen­t, which is a growth area for the firm with clients including L&g-backed Inspired Villages and Brunelcare.

Carl Selby join the firm from Hedges Law in Oxford.

Having joined Hedges from Brookstree­t Des Roches in 2014 and Reynolds Parry Jones in 2016, they have since worked together to create and grow the business services team to complement the pre-existing Hedges offering in personal law. They will bring a team of three with them.

Rod Smith has more than 20 years’ experience in advising on high value, complex and multijuris­dictional matters.

He currently leads the Trust and Estates team at the London office of law firm Stone King LLP and is completing his third term on the Law Society’s wills and equity committee.

He specialise­s in advising on the creation, running, restructur­ing and transfer of domestic and cross-border estates and trusts as well as on Court of Protection and regulatory matters. He will play a key role in Royds Withy King’s growth of its successful Private Wealth propositio­n.
