Man arrested after stabbing near city park
An arrest has been made after a stabbing in Bath left a man with “serious” leg injuries.
Armed police and a helicopter were called to Redland Park at around 2.30pm on Sunday after reports of an assault.
It is thought a man was attacked next to the Redland Park allotments, in Twerton.
A man was taken to hospital from the scene and police said he suffered “serious” injuries to his leg.
Police have since said that a man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing.
A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: “We arrested a 25-year-old male yesterday (June 1) on suspicion of wounding causing grievous bodily harm without intent. He has been released under investigation.”
Access to the area was restricted by officers as an investigation was carried out through the afternoon.
A police spokesperson said on Sunday:“officers attended and found a male who had suffered a stab wound to the leg. His condition is described as serious and he has been taken to hospital by paramedics.”
