Person struck by freight train

Train services were halted after a person was hit by a freight train in Somerset.

Emergency services attended the incident which occurred at Bath Spa Station at around 2pm on Friday (May 29).

Great Western Railway services were stopped with no trains calling at Chippenham or Bath Spa.

Network Rail said all lines were reopened shortly after 6.30pm.
