Grants widened to more firms and charities

-

Charities and small or micro businesses across Bath and North East Somerset, who were not eligible for the business grants scheme set up in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, are now being offered grant support.

The Government has set up a discretionary fund to be administered by local authorities.

Eligible charities and businesses need to register by the deadline on Wednesday, June 10.

Cllr Richard Samuel, cabinet member for resources, said: “I’m delighted that we are going to be able to help more of our local businesses and organisations directly impacted by the pandemic.

“This financial support will give them peace of mind and the confidence to continue their work in an uncertain time.

“Being able to adapt our approach to local circumstances will enable us to do our very best for Bath and North East Somerset.”
