The steps being taken to stop the virus spreading

-

■ Classes will be split in half, with no more than 15 pupils in each.

■ Younger children (eg nursery) can mix in consistent groups of up to 16.

■ Desks are spaced two metres apart and each child has their own pack of resources.

■ Lunchtimes, break times, drop-offs and pick-ups are staggered so there aren’t lots of children moving around at the same time.

■ The timetable will be refreshed with assemblies staggered and some lessons taking place outdoors.

■ Teachers and children are encouraged to wash their hands frequently, for 20 seconds with soap and running water – and dry them thoroughly.

■ Schools will be deep-cleaned regularly and high-traffic surfaces will be wiped down throughout the day.

■ Staff and pupils are advised to stay at home if they’ve been in contact with someone with coronavirus symptoms. ■ Shielded and clinically vulnerable adults and children are advised to stay at home.
