Decision could come on Monday
Play-off hopes rest on EFL meeting to discuss ending
Bath City could be a step closer to realising their play-off dreams next week.
On Monday, the EFL are hosting a meeting of clubs to decide how League One and League Two are going to resolve their seasons. League One clubs have been able to vote unanimously on how their campaign should end, while League Two clubs voted to end their season.
It is believed that clubs in League Two also asked the EFL for no relegation to take place, however the EFL want to keep relegation to stay true to its original framework. If relegation does happen, it paves the way for the National League to host their play-offs, which could then open the door for National League North and South to do the same.
That was given a further boost by the FA who agreed an extension to the National League season.
In the meantime, the Bath board held its monthly virtual meeting to discuss their financial position and plans around the redevelopment process. On the financial side the club remains secure in the short to medium term thanks to the fantastic support from fans alongside government grants.
Regarding development, the relevant professionals have now been instructed and are making progress on a modified ground redevelopment plan which could allow for an amended student accommodation block plan to be submitted.
On June 23, the Supporters Society will be holding a combined Q&A and general club catch up. Guests will include manager Jerry Gill to find out how he’s been keeping busy. More details can be found on their Twitter account.
