Lunn places Electrical on top

The second round of the Sensas Commercial House League was fished over 42 pegs on the Bristol Avon at the Crane, Swinford and Newbridge. The river was clear on a warm, bright day as Swinford and the top section of the Crane proved the places to draw with 15 double figure weights from the 21 anglers there, compared to one in the other three sections.

The top four all came from Swinford as M&N Electrical’s Vince Lunn won from peg 12, after catching around 80 small fish on a 5m whip with maggot before fishing the waggler with maggot and castor and mainly catching 2-5oz chublets, Lunn caught three bigger chub to weight 16lb 2oz.

Midland Spinners’ Kev Boltz and Craig Pinker were joint second with 14lb 7oz. Boltz was on peg 6 and caught around 200 fish on a 5m whip with hemp and castor, which was mainly roach, bleak, dace and around 5lbs of decent perch. Pinker was on peg 17 and caught roach at 14.5 metres on the pole over groundbait before fishing the waggler shallow to catch chublets and some decent chub.

S Townsend and R Manns were fourth and fifth for Preston Innovation­s Thatchers with 13lb 10oz and 13lb 4oz respective­ly, with D Cole of Mosella Bathampton B sixth with 8lbs 8.5oz.

On the day, Preston Innovation­s Thatchers won by three points in Division A to take a seven point lead overall against Mosella Bathampton A, with Sensas Nomads a point behind in third.

In Division B, M&N Electrical won by two points over Midland Spinner to go a point ahead overall, Mosella Bathampton B sit third.
