Man arrested after assaults

A man was arrested after a number of people were assaulted in Bath city centre.

Police were called to the incident at about 10.45am on Friday (September 18).

Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called to reports of a man assaulting a number of members of the public in Bath city centre.

“It is not believed anyone has been seriously injured or that any weapons were involved.

“Security staff at a city centre store restrained a man who has now been arrested on suspicion of assault.”

Police added that the 39-year-old was in police custody.
