City area top in county table of Covid cases

An area of Bath has the highest number of recent positive coronaviru­s test results in Somerset, according to Government data.

Public Health England statistics show an eastern section of the city comprising Widcombe, Bathwick Hill and Claverton Down, recorded the most positive Covid-19 test results in the county between September 18 and September 24 (the latest available data).

Overall, Somerset continues to have significan­tly lower numbers of positive test results when compared to other parts of the country.
