Sides end season runners-up
have ended their Division 26 season fourth after falling to a two wicket defeat at Warminster 2nd on the final day of the campaign.
Despite a good 65 from Gerald Hayward and knocks of 23 and 21 from Sam Plowright and Stuart Nelson, Box could only muster 182-9 off their 45 overs. Warminster responded with 74 from opener Richard Davie, supported by Lance Harwood (25) and David Bateman (35), and although no other batsman reached double figures after the openers, Warminster held on to reach the target with two wickets and six overs to spare.
The Warminster wickets were taken by Andy Hamilton (2-42), Hayward (2-4), George Elwell (1-28), Jordan Welsby (1-23), Dave Crawford (1-33) and Jonny Pegler (1-43).
■ CORSHAM 3Rd finished just four points off the Division 46 title despite claiming a convincing six wicket win over Winsley 2nd. Corsham were able to dismiss Winsley for just 119 inside 40 overs as Michael Myatt claimed a great five for, alongside Andy Day (2-31), Ben Da Costa (1-19) and Craig Chaplin (1-8).
Corsham then needed less than 20 overs to reach the target as Simon Crampton (52) managed a half century alongside 33 from Mark Hick. Theo Todhunter (17*) and Myatt (6*) claimed the winning runs as Corsham had six wickets in hand.
■ BATHFORD also ended their Division 66 campaign as runners-up, finishing five points behind winners Avebury 2nd. Bathford finished with a six wicket victory of Chippenham 4th after restricting them 195-7 in their innings.
The wickets were shared between Paul Merrett (2-40), Jujhar Garcha (2-13), Matthew Hunt (1-57) and Matt Watts (1-35).
The reply was largely from Alistair Duffield who scored a magnificent unbeaten 108, aided by 24 not out at the end by Ben Kirbywollett, as Bathford reached the target in the 42nd over with six wickets in hand.
