Thatchers lead extended

third round of the Sensas Commercial House League was fished on the Kings Sedgemoor Drain at Parchey and Bradney. The colder nights meant that the venue fished harder than usual, except for the A section where bream were being caught.

Rob Jones of Preston Innovation­s Thatchers won the match from peg A1 at Parchey. He fished the feeder 3/4 across with three red maggots to catch 12 bream and a tench for 56lb 6oz. Ben Rendall of Mosella Bathampton B was second with 36lb from peg A3 and also caught 3/4 on the feeder with worm, having seven bream and a tench.

Third was Andy Brit of Mosella Bathampton A from E2 at Bradney. He caught on the whip at five and six metres feeding groundbait. He caught 257 roach, rudd and skimmers for 19lb 2oz. Paul Purchase (M&N Electrical) was fourth with 17lb 6oz ahead of Tim Ford (Preston Innovation­s Thatchers) with 14lb 11oz. Chris Hook (Sensas Nomads) was sixth with 13lb.

Preston Innovation­s Thatchers won on the day in Division A to extend their lead to nine points over Mosella Bathampton A, while Sensas Nomads are six points further back. In Division B, Mosella Bathampton B only dropped two points to move into joint-second with Midland Spinner, but M&N Electrical are three points ahead.

Andy Britt will face Kev Boltz in the next knockout round, with Paul Isaacs up against Rob Manns.
