Top billing for water firm

Wessex Water is celebratin­g National Customer Service Week after being recognised as a top performer by Ofwat and the Consumer Council for Water (CCW).

Industry regulator Ofwat has placed Wessex Water third of 17 firms in its C-MEX leaguee, which assesses customer service.

Results are based on telephone, online and face-to-face surveys and have seen Wessex finish in the top three alongside Portsmouth Water and Welsh Water.

Recognitio­n from Ofwat comes after Wessex Water was also praised in the annual CCW Complaints Report. Written customer complaints in 2019/20 fell by 23% while there was a 40% deop in ‘stage 2’ complaints, where issues with service or bills are not resolved at the first time of asking.

Director of Customer Policy and Engagement Sue Lindsay said: “We treat any complaint as one too many and something to learn from, while we’re committed to going the extra mile for our customers and resolving issues raised at the first time of asking.”
