Duo think they are above the law

- Diana Francis Pete Milory

The network has grown, and now a local group has been formed in Bath and North East Somerset.

We are very conscious that the Covid-19 pandemic and the threat of climate change have made many people take a fresh look at what security means to them. Our first project will be to research local people’s perceptions and experiences of security and insecurity in their daily lives.

If any readers, as individuals or groups, are interested in finding out more or would like to participate in the project, they can contact us at rsgroup.banes@gmail.com.

Wearing face masks has given the clueless pair of Cummings and Johnson the idea of becoming outlaws, operating beyond the law. With Cummings, the blinkered Barnard Castle Kid, and his bewildered, stuttering sidekick, Dozy Johnson, reckless, careless and completely out of touch.

Cummings is after unbridled power. His years in Russia schooled him in the dream of totalitarianism.

For people relying on planning laws to protect them from greedy developers or over ambitious neighbours seeking large extensions, the Government want to junk all that. Freeing developers restricts the freedoms of other people, of course.

Cummings and Johnson want to allow developers to build houses for the rich oligarchs on green belt, playing fields and woodlands.

Not content with “concreting over the Home Counties”, rural villages further afield are in danger. Oligarchs who want to gut listed buildings, removing historic features in favour of bland modernity, will be condoned.

But it goes further. Cummings and Johnson have already shown their contempt for the law, over election funding in the EU referendum, over illegally proroguing Parliament and now breaking international law. Already denying free speech and access to investigative journalists, they now want to muzzle broadcasters.

The Conservative Party, once the party of law and order, is now reduced to mere lap dogs to an unelected political adviser. Its former reputation is in tatters. Two hundred years of history, junked. The legacy of Disraeli, Churchill and Thatcher discarded in favour of tearing up the law.

Britain is being mugged by Cummings, and Tory MPS stand back and look the other way, a spineless gaggle of Yes men!
