PLANT OF THE WEEK

-

Symphyotrichum novae-angliae ‘rosa Sieger’

What a very long name for a pretty pink daisy!

Better known to gardeners as asters or Michaelmas daisies, this group of plants is a great addition to the late autumn garden, and if it’s mild, will flower until November.

‘Rosa Sieger’ has lots of lovely rosy pink flowers which will cheer you up on a dull day, and it is loved by butterflies for its late season nectar.

Growing to 4ft in height and spread, it has a good clumpy shape to fill that bare patch in the borders.

Grow in full sun or partial shade in most soils.
