Hunt as teenage girl is seriously assaulted by man

Police are hunting a man who carried out a serious sexual assault on a teenage girl.

The victim was assaulted on Kilmersdon Road, in Radstock, sometime between 7pm and 8pm on Monday.

Officers have carried out a forensic examinatio­n of the scene and are conducting house-to-house inquiries.

They are also examining CCTV footage from the area and have stepped up patrols to provide the community with reassuranc­e.

A statement from Avon and Somerset Constabula­ry said: “Detectives are investigat­ing a serious sexual assault which happened in Radstock on Monday (25 January).

“The victim, a teenage girl, was assaulted by a man on Kilmersdon Road sometime between 7pm and 8pm.

“Officers are supporting her and have provided her with access to specialist services.”
