All eyes on W Series restart
Following this week’s pre-season test in Anglesey, all eyes will be on the opening race of the season as W Series makes its triumphant return to the circuit.
With the final preparations under way, Bath driver Jamie Chadwick will begin the defence of her 2019 crown in Austria in support of the Formula One Styrian Grand Prix following the rescheduling of the French Grand Prix.
The season begins on June 26 before also supporting the following week’s Formula One Austrian Grand Prix on July 3.
The action moves to Silverstone on July 17 and then Hungary on July 31 before the sole race in August at Spa on July 28. Netherlands host the W Series on September 4 before the back-to-back weekend in the USA and Mexico in October.
Chadwick said: “It is important that I get off to a fast start in Austria next month, so this week’s pre-season test is vital. I have driven at Anglesey once before – in British F3 in 2017 – and the track is perfect for testing so I am sure we will all learn a huge amount over the five days.
“Retaining the W Series title is the goal this season, but it will be tougher than in 2019. The grid has more depth this year and the likes of Beitske Visser have gained lots of valuable experience in other series since the last W Series race nearly two years ago. Beitske will push me hard and be one of my main rivals for the title again.”
