Bloom judges take in sights

-

Bath has now been judged for the Britain in Bloom South West competition.

The weather didn’t go to plan but judges Lesley Jelleyman and Su Maddocks really enjoyed their visit.

Lesley said: “We had a wonderful day in Bath, and enjoyed it very much.”

Results won’t be announced until the awards ceremony in Weston-super-mare in October.

The judges walked on a specific route for four and a half hours taking in iconic Bath locations such as Milsom Place, Southgate Shopping Centre and Parade Gardens.

Barry Cruse MBE, honorary president of Bath in Bloom, said: “The weather didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of our community groups, they were terrific, also our thanks to businesses and of course our wonderful parks guys.

“We involved many wonderful local community groups, all of them making a huge difference to Bath and its environment.

“They made up a large and very important part of our entry.”

Bath in Bloom chair Steve Brook said: “My sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to our entry.

“We showed the judges the best of community involvement as well as wonderful floral displays.”
