Slimbridge to visit first for Larkhall

Larkhall Athletic will begin their 2021/22 Southern League season at home to Slimbridge on August 14 before ending the campaign at Evesham United.

Despite having their pre-season match on Saturday cancelled as the rise in positive Covid cases increases, Larkhall have also announced the signings young players Sam Crumb (centre-froward), Harry Simons (midfielder) and Alfie Clark (left-back) who is returning to the club.

Both Corsham Town and their Developmen­t side were 2-1 winners on Saturday. The first team hosted Chippenham Town Academy and won through with goals from Luke Ballinger and Matty Morris. Jake Dodge and Dan Watts were on hand for the Developmen­t side against AEK Boco.

Bitton are looking for a physio to join them on match days for the first on Saturday afternoons and training on Tuesday and Thursdays, anyone who is interested and ready to start can get in touch with the club via its social media pages.

The club is also hosting its charity day on Saturday with a game against representa­tives of Cancer Research UK and Mind. Kick-off is at 2pm with the venue opening at 12pm. The bar will be open alongon side a barbecue, bouncy castle, face painting, raffle and disco.

The Somerset County League fixtures have also been released and Fry Club will begin at Ilminster Town on August 14 with the Reserves hosting Staplegrov­e. Keynsham Town Reserves will be at Stockwood Wanderers while Saltford travel to Winscombe in Division One. Timsbury Athletic will begin their campaign against the same opponents, but will have to wait until August 17.

Peasedown Miners Welfare will host Castle Cary in Division Two, with Tunley Athletic at new side Bishop Sutton Reserves.
