Agency in plea to find ‘lifeline’ city homes

-

A lettings agency is currently seeking studios and one-bedroom homes in Bath to respond to the increase in housing demand from single individuals and couples.

Home Turf Lettings, which is part of local charity Developing Health and Independence (DHI), is a not-for-profit lettings agency leasing properties from private rented sector landlords and providing them to people in housing need.

They offer a guaranteed rental income for five years, while fully managing the property and tenants, and paying for day-to-day maintenance and repairs. Tenants can access practical support whenever required from the inhouse advice floating support team.

David Walton, housing director for DHI, said: “Helping people into homes of their own is at the heart of what we do and we want to provide good quality homes to people in housing need across the West of England.

“Landlords are assured of hassle-free and guaranteed rent so their property is making money while doing good.”

One tenant of a Home Turf Lettings property, Rob, said: “DHI and Home Turf Lettings were a lifeline for me.

“They found me a home, and my confidence and self-esteem are now returning. I’ve taken up projects in the house like refurbishing a dining table and I’m starting to work on the garden so that we can grow our own vegetables.

“I’m so grateful for the support that I have been given. Having a stable, secure home is essential for a full life, and Home Turf Lettings have given me that.”
