Toure in fine form ahead of Billericay clash

-

It’s no surprise that Mo Touray can’t wait for the season to start.

The forward, on loan from Salford, has scored and assisted two in his two pre-season outings and is set to stay at the club until January.

Touray confirmed he’s delighted to be at Twerton Park for the next five months.

“The main attraction was playing football again and scoring,” he said. “I feel like I’m contributing with assists too and doing well.

“I feel like the position the gaffer’s put me in his very good because I can link up, come short or go long.

“Any ball that goes in behind I feel like I can win it. I need to make sure I’m in the position to capitalise.

The 22-year-old will train on Thursdays with Bath, spending the rest of the time with his parent club who are one of the favourites for promotion from League Two.

Despite the lack of preparation with his teammates, he’s proved to be a vital ally for Alex Fletcher and Cody Cooke in attack, providing an assist for both in the last two games plus scoring in each match himself.

“I know Cody is clinical,” said Touray on providing the striker with his goal at Hereford. “I wanted to do my bit.

“I’m lucky – they’re two good players, we have a good relationship. Our link-up is great.

“In a game you might only get one or two chances. I’m glad I’ve taken mine today and at Swansea.”

Touray excelled on loan at Marine last season, scoring six in 13 league games plus contributing in the Step 4 side’s incredible FA Cup run, though he’d departed before they faced Tottenham in round three.

Before that the former Newport man enjoyed loans at Merthyr and Barry Town United.

“I heard about Bath a couple of times as I’m not far from there,” he said. “I know they’re a great club.

“My aim is to play as much as I can, score and assist, put in the work.

“After that I’d like to get in the Salford team but for now my focus is on here and to do well.”
