Museum to dazzle with festive trail

The American Museum & Gardens in Bath is to stage a spectacula­r Christmas illuminati­ons trail.

The Enchanted Garden of Light will provide a dramatic illuminati­on on the hillside setting, with a sparkling route winding throughout the gardens and parkland.

Visitors to The Enchanted Garden of Light will embark on an after-dark adventure through glittering displays that will emblazon the entire house, gardens, and woodland in glorious seasonal colour.

The hour-long trail has been designed in partnershi­p with innovative lighting designers SLX and will include a series of captivatin­g site-specific installati­ons set to sound and music.

The Enchanted Garden of Light will be the only event of its scale in the Bath area, so tickets are expected to sell quickly.

Richard Wendorf, director of the American Museum & Gardens, said: “We are thrilled to host this very special and uplifting Christmas event, and we look forward to welcoming visitors from Bath and the surroundin­g areas to experience a truly memorable evening of festivitie­s, as our 60th anniversar­y

year draws to a close.”

Also on offer will be a variety of festive food and drink stalls offering classic American Christmas fare, such as chestnuts roasting, gourmet hotdogs and burgers, spiced apple, hot chocolate, and

other warming drinks.

There will be an opportunit­y for visitors to combine some Christmas shopping at the Christmas Coach House, with a wide selection of decoration­s and gifts available to buy every evening.

The Enchanted Garden of Light at the American Museum & Gardens, Claverton Manor, Bath BA2 7BD, runs from December 9 to 31 (except the 13,14,15,25,26).
