We need light at the end of the tunnel

-

For the moment we seem to be going round and round in frustrating

circles.

Bad news ebbs and flows in varying degrees and we are so used to it that any good news might now be viewed as sceptical and too good to be true, yet we are also encouraged to be positive and not negative because that gives comfort and hope and good for our wellbeing.

The lyrics of one song springs to mind “WAR – what is it good for? Absolutely nothing.”

People die, physically and mentally wounded and families hearts broken.

We now have serious problems in Afganistan, worries about women, not only there but in general, floods and earthquakes/climate change/shortage of HGV drivers and care workers having a knock-on effect and Covid still with us of course.

That’s a lot for us to deal with (2 Timothy 3:1-5) and then on top of that “personal” concerns and problems we need light at the end of the tunnel and, contrary to how some might be thinking, we are not being tested by God (James 1:13) and hence a reason to deny his existence. If you are interested in history/prophecy

take a look at just one prophecy highlighted in the Bible book of Daniel.

It covers the coming and going of world powers over the years (Daniel 11) but in Daniel 2:44 mentions “God’s Kingdom” (same Kingdom we pray for in the Lord’s prayer) putting everything right (a heavenly government with a perfect King).

The Bible also tells us why things are bad, why God has allowed the suffering to go on for SO long, how we can cope each day, what hope there is for our loved ones and what the future holds.

No other book has been written under inspiration (2 Timothy 3:16,17) and all prophecies and promises have come true to date so no reason to question the ones yet to be fulfilled. Some may not even have read the Bible or, if they have, can’t understand it but it has all the answers to all the questions.

The Bible can answer “What IS good news and why can we have faith in it?” and “How we can build such faith?” Faith is NOT gullible but if you have sound evidence it can change your life.
