Ladies make their points

-

Bath Golf Club’s ladies held a Stableford last Tuesday. In autumnal conditions, scoring was good with Division One won by Samantha Robinson on 39 points, three ahead of Andrea Phillips with Stephanie Anderson third on 35. Top in Division Two was Rebecca Wood with 36, beating Linda Fricker on countback with Lesley Matthews third on 35. Division Three was won by Linda Cousins on 39, five better than Janet Scilly with Anne Hitchin third on 32.

The men also played a Stableford on Saturday, using only three clubs and a putter. In cold, breezy conditions, scoring was excellent and underlined the abilities of those involved to score so well with so few clubs. The winner of Division One was Matthew Warman with 39, three ahead of Nigel Crichton with Keith Lunt third on 35.

Division Two was won by Michael Vincent, also on 39, just one better than David Rushgrove who in turn finished one ahead of Jon Rolfe. Top of Division Three was Mark Daniels on 32, eight more than Mark Moorfoot with Rob Macalister third on 32. The Captains Prize, the men’s summer singles knockout, was finalised after Michael Roche defeated Rod Davies in the final.

The seniors played in a threeman Texas Scramble earlier in the week. In cold, breezy conditions scoring was excellent with the winning team of Michael and Stephen Roche and Phil Scilly scoring nett 58. One behind in second were Kelvin Green, Steve Ford and Martin Cashnella, with Mark Moorfoot, Geoff Ogden and Barrier Saggers topping a long list of nett 60 finishers in third.
