Market aims to set hearts racing

-

The new Bath Independent market will offer visitors the chance to buy creative products and meet artists and crafts people.

The event on Saturday, February 5 will have a Valentine’s theme and is set to be “buzzing”, according to market boss Heidi Roxton.

“Come and meet the artists, makers and traders that are part of the local independent community,” she said.

“They are all very excited to come together for yet another friendly, bustling and vibrant event.”

She added: “It will be jam packed full of art, ceramics, prints, vintage and retro clothing. What we are trying to steer away from is anything that is a little dull and passe.

“This market is full of great local creative people and like minded visitors. There will be mouthwatering cake, coffee, savoury delights, the very best local chocolate and a chocolate fondue fountain.

“There will be Valentine cards, statement jewellery and costume jewellery, soy candles, divine body and hand lotions, ethical sportswear, quality woven headwear, signature socks, and the best dog treats in town.”

She said Re.store will selling its vegan and cruelty-free eco-friendly products as well as sharing information about its local refill delivery service, while TBI will have its cool “Tees and Totes” available on the day.

“Charity Meningitis Now will be joining us, and will be giving talks (1pm and 2.30pm) about the support and aftercare they provide,” she added. “We look forward to helping raise awareness and funds on the day.”

The market runs 11am-4pm at the Museum of Bath at Work in Julian Road. Admission is free with parking available for blue badge holders, and step-free access.
