Three Bath & District League clubs were taking part in the Somerset Sunday Challenge Cup this weekend, leaving just five fixtures across two divisions in the league.

After last week’s first loss of points and delay on claiming their trophy, Dunkerton made sure of it this week with a 7-1 win over Olympic Victoria to claim the Division Two trophy and back to back championships. Gary Jeffery (3) Kaylum Escott (3) and Andy Marks were on the scoresheet.

Griffin welcome Gringos to Lasndown in what turned out to be a thrilling six-goal draw. A brace from Kirkham and a Bracher striker from Gringos wasn’t enough to claim all three points.

Team Nathan confirmed second in Division Two with a 3-1 win in the first round of their double header against Odd Down SC Reserves. After a lengthy spell out, Tom Rosevear scored from a tight angle after some good running and a clever through-ball from Pinder. Down had a penalty saved as it remained 1-0 at the break.

Dominant Nathan got their second through Rosevear again after a good ball through from Payneblackmore before Rosevear completed his hat-tick with a nice lob from the edge of the box. Down did pull one back with ten minutes to go via a scramble from a corner but it proved a mere consolation.

In Division Three, Team Nathan Reserves were beaten 3-1 at Lansdown Reserves who climb off the bottom courtesy of goals from Ben Chapman, Ryan Metcalfe and Luke Priddle. Brad Blackmore scored for Nathan in their final game of the season to make it 1-1 at the break. Two Weir Town beat Bear Flat 2-1 to move third ahead of their opponents.

In the County Cup, Kingsmead travelled to The Duke and won 1-0, while Division Three Puckle Vale also advanced at the hands of Coleford Vets winning 3-2 courtesy of goals from Short, Fear and Densley. PF Loco were knocked out 4-0 against a strong West Bower.

The groups have been draw for the BDFL District Cup, taking place in a Champions League-style format. Trinity, Bath United, Puckle Vale, Odd Down Reserves and Olympic Victoria have been drawn together in Group A, with Batheaston, Team Nathan Reserves, Lansdown, Bear Flat and Farrington Albion in Group B.

Group C is made up of PF Loco, Dunkerton, Lansdown Reserves, Keynsham Rangers and Heritage United Reserves, leaving Kingsmead, Team Nathan, Griffin, Two Weir Town and Gringos in Group D.
