Departing coach proud of what’s been achieved
Billy Clark has announced his departure as Bath City FC Head of Youth.
The former defender was in the role for 12 years and has taken up a new position at St Brendan’s College/total Pro Soccer as the Head of Coaching and football development.
Clark, pictured, released a statement which included the following: “After starting my position (with Bath) in 2009 I have seen many highs and reasons to be proud of the achievements of the football academy program.
“Five players have represented the England colleges national team, many have supported the first team in training, Somerset Premier Cup matches and league matches. Three players have been signed by Bristol City (Saikou Jannah, Louis Britton and Harvey Wiles-richards) which is an incredible achievement, two of these have made their Football League debuts and all three continue to strive to enhance their professional careers.
“Too many to mention are now playing locally in the football pyramid at various levels.
“Other highlights are winning the South West Counties League Cup and reaching the 2nd round of the FA Youth Cup in 2019. The win against Andover Town, 3-2 after extra time in the first round was a night that will never be forgotten by anyone involved or any of the spectators in attendance on that night.
“I would like to place on record my sincere appreciation for all of the staff, directors and chairman at Bath City Football Club. I would also like to thank all the players and parents that I have worked with and got to know in my time as the Head of Youth.
“My time at the club is a period that I will look back on with a sense of pride and achievement but all good things come to an end.
“I will still attend the first team matches when possible and support Jerry and the players.
“Thank you for your support.”
