New care home aims to provide touch of luxury

-

A luxury new care home is nearing completion next door to Sainsbury’s in Odd Down and will open its doors to residents this autumn.

Savista Developments has reached a milestone in the construction of the 80-bed care facility on Frome Road.

The development by Hallmark Care Homes behind St Martin’s Hospital will be called Midford Manor. It will be Hallmark’s 21st care home and will cost £16 million, providing residential, nursing and dementia care and creating 100 local jobs.

The site’s construction team was recently joined by multi-awardwinning Hallmark’s chair Avnish Goyal, Bath MP Wera Hobhouse and Mayor of Bath June Player to mark the next stage of the build.

Avnish said: “This year we will celebrate 25 years of building and running industry-leading care homes. Following our success in 2021 winning Residential Care Provider at three separate award ceremonies, we are excited to be able to

create a luxurious and engaging new care community in Bath and deliver exceptional care to future residents.”

As part of the event, a stone block was pointed and a commemorative plaque unveiled. Guests then enjoyed refreshments nearby and a presentation from the development’s interior designer, regional hospitality manager and commissioning

manager.

Facilities will include a cafe which will serve complimentary hot drinks and homemade cakes and biscuits, a cinema and a luxurious hairdressing salon and therapy room.

In addition to spacious bedrooms with en-suites, the home will have 15 exclusive suites which will include a fitted kitchenette, a

dining area, lounge as well as a large ensuite bathroom.

According to developers, the wellness room will support residents to build up their strength and keep fit, and incorporate the latest technology and thinking in care home design as well as an abundance of outdoor space on all floors.

Ms Hobhouse said: “It was a real

pleasure to join the Hallmark Care Homes team celebrating a new milestone at Midford Manor.

“Hallmark Care Homes promises to bring a lot of caring expertise to Bath especially in dementia care.

“It is obvious how much thought has gone into the planning and building of the new facility and I am looking forward to seeing it open later in the year.”
