Audio guide for cemetery visitors
Visitors to a Bath burial ground’s open day can use their phones to listen online to the stories of people interred at the site during the 19th and 20th centuries.
The open day includes Richard White and Lorna Brunstein’s media installation, “Honouring Esther”, which uses recordings made during a cycle of walks reflecting on and witnessing the Nazi death march that Lorna’s mother, Esther, survived.
The 2015 walk, on the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Bergenbelsen concentration camp, transposed the route to Somerset and finished at the Bath Jewish Burial Ground.
The Bath Jewish Burial Ground open day takes place on Sunday, September 11 at the site in Bradford Road, Combe Down – at the entrance to the Mulberry Park estate – from 11am4pm.
