Ditch the dairy for climate and health

-

The single biggest change we can each make to help mitigate the climate catastrophe is to go vegan.

Compared to producing oat milk, the production of cows’ milk is responsible for three times more CO2 emissions, uses nine times the amount of land, and guzzles 13 times as much water. Dairy also comes loaded with suffering: many cows in the dairy industry spend much of their lives on concrete floors, hooked up to milking machines.

Millions of people around the world have already switched to tasty, cholesterol-free plant milks, such as oat, soya, rice, almond, and coconut.

Humans are the only animals who routinely drink another species’ milk, and it’s not surprising that many people are intolerant to artery-clogging dairy, because it’s designed for calves. In fact, ditching dairy boosts your health: it reduces your risk of suffering from certain cancers, obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
