Give all new homes solar/heat pumps

-

We hold our collective breath to see what scheme the ‘new government’ will conjure up to mitigate the eye-watering charges the energy companies are inflicting upon us.

The same energy companies that made over a billion pounds before the price increase.

There is a shift in the narrative with Johnson declaring Ukraine is paying in blood while we pay in higher bills and our present woes are solely the result of the dreadful war.

Martin Lewis has said rises in the cost of water (yes, from the same companies that made £2.8bn profit while polluting our beaches), council tax, broadband and mobiles, food, energy, heating oil, and National Insurance were in place before the Ukraine war.

According to The Guardian, FTSE 350 chief executives are expected to collect 63 times the average median pay of workers; maybe the gaping inequality accounts for the current unrest of Covid frontline workers.

We had solar panels fitted through a very generous local scheme one year ago and so far we have generated a third of all our energy needs. I drive down the A38 and I see so many new-builds with south facing roofs that could be doing the same.

I do not understand why it is not a planning stipulation to include solar panels/heat pumps in their plans.
