Some people can’t afford the internet

-

The decision of Melksham Without Parish Council to force members to go paperless from September will bar some local residents from standing for council.

Everything will now be downloaded online. |They forget that there are still some that can’t afford the internet.

Then there are still some that wouldn’t know how to turn on a laptop, that has been provided to all councillors at great expense to the taxpayers.

During lockdown meetings were held via zoom, we had one Councillor that found it impossible to get online and missed most meetings.

This decision is expensive and does nothing for local democracy
