Jill wins Stableford crown

Bath Golf Club’s ladies played in a Stableford last week. In generally fine conditions, despite a few showers, scoring was excellent with top spot overall and in Division One going to Jill Carter with 44 points - five better than Sandie Moore who beat Linda Mchugh on countback.

Division Two went to Rachel Brown with 43, two in front of Elizabeth Brearley with Jane Franke third on 40. Patricia Lynn won Division Three with 40, two ahead of Jo Childs who beat Ann Love on countback.

The seniors played in the RNLI Cup last Monday in fine, sunny weather. The winner, with a great 44 points was Pete Glanville after he beat Chris Loveluck on countback. John O’mara was a point back in third after he edged out Roger Williams as countback was needed once more.

Last Saturday, the men competed in the TM Cup Medal. The day provided some good scores, with junior Billy Sefton-moore shooting an excellent nett 62. The winner of Division One was Lewis Cains with nett 69 after countback from Ewan Caldwell and Andrew Kynoch. Stuart Ratcliffe topped Division Two with nett 69, one ahead of Roy Aust who ousted John Linehan on countback.

Behind Sefton-moore in Division Three was Mark Daniels on nett 66, three in front of Jon Toogood. Liam O’mara scored the best gross of 69. The TM Cup is awarded to the best score from players who have won their division in qualifying competitio­ns and this year’s winner is Caldwell.
