The eighth round of the British Touring Car Championship took place at Thruxton and Bath’s Josh Cook was in the thick of the action in his Rich Energy BTC Racing backed Honda Civic type R. When the series came to Thruxton earlier in the season, Cook notched his ninth victory at the circuit and he was second fastest in qualifying for the weekend’s first race this time around. The top 17 were covered by just 0.95 seconds at this high speed circuit. After making a good start, Cook was hit by Ash Sutton and forced onto the grass and ultimately finished 13th - fourth independent driver. He also set the fastest independents lap of the race with 1min 16.89secs at a speed of 110.30mph. Cook was eighth in his second race, first independent, before making a great start in his third event - leading from Colin Turkington by lap three. He held onto the lead to win the race, setting the fastest independent lap once again in 1:16.52 at a speed of 110.82mph. It was Cook’s 18th BTCC victory and his tenth at Thruxton, he is currently fifth in the overall BTCC standings this season but leading the Independents Trophy.

Also at Thruxton, fellow Bath racer Oliver White was in action in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship. Racing in the Pro Class, White had two eighth place finishes, seventh in class, in his Duckhams Yuasa Racing with Redline Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car.
